“Transference, the Therapeutic Relationship and Transformation in Analysis” with Murray Stein and Mario Jacoby
Presenters:
Murray Stein, Ph.D., Co-President of the International School of Analytical Psychology
(ISAP) in Zurich, Switzerland.
Mario Jacoby, Ph.D., senior training and supervising analyst at ISAP and internationally recognized author and lecturer.
This DVD home study seminar takes an in-depth look at the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist. It examines the deepening stages within long term therapy and the complicated interplay between the conscious and unconscious of both client and therapist, including the profoundly transforming elements.
The relationship that develops between therapist and client within the context of long-term psychotherapeutic treatment is generally recognized by all schools of depth psychology and psychoanalysis as a critical factor in the change and healing processes. Analytical (Jungian) Psychology has a unique perspective on this relationship, which is grounded in a perspective on the relation between conscious and unconscious psychological dynamics in both the individuals involved and in the close relationship that develops between individuals engaged in psychotherapy. Dr. Jacoby lectures on this subject from many years of clinical experience as a Jungian psychoanalyst. Dr. Stein provides a theoretical overview and a review of the history of Jung’s thinking on this key factor in the psychotherapeutic process and its potential for healing.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from some of the world’s leading Jungian minds.
The Asheville Jung Center is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Asheville Jung Center maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
