Journey Conferences 2011 presents…
The Moving Toward Wholeness Conference October 20-23, 2011.
Journey Conferences focus on the dialogue between the psychology of Carl Gustav Jung & Christian spirituality along with spiritual experiences at the heart of other faiths.
This year’s cast of featured Presenters include Richard Tarnas Ph.D. ( author of The Passion of the Western Mind… and Cosmos and Psyche …); Jungian scholar and international shamanic teacher,
C. Michael Smith Ph.D. (aka Mikkal) (author of Jung and Shamanism in Dialogue: Retrieving Soul / Retrieving the Sacred, and Psychotherapy and the Sacred etc… ); and Houston Jungian Analyst Kate Burns.
They will be joined by other Jungian analysts and highly qualified presenters with over 20 workshops and special events that will make up a memorable feast for psyche and spirit.

Dr. Sonu Shamdasani introduces us to reading Liber Primus – the first parchment signatur
e of Jung’s Red Book. Dr. Shamdasani will reconstruct the sequence of events that underlay it, the various levels of elaboration and commentary, and Jung’s subsequent attempt to translate its conceptions into his scholarly writings.

The Dramatis Personae of Liber Primus

In Liber Primus we encounter the Spirit of the Depths, the Spirit of the Time, the Killed Man, a Scarab, a Youth, Siegfried, Elijah, Salome, the Serpent and the Soul. In this seminar, we will explore these figures, the landscapes of their emergence and their interrelation. Dr. Shamdasani will start us on this exploration, and with his guidance we will enter the world of Liber Primus. (it will be expected that participants have read this section of the Red Book).
